Both the CCGs were also rated ‘green’ – the best possible rating – for quality of leadership and finance, maintaining their ratings from last year’s assessment.

Clinical commissioning groups are the NHS organisations which plan and buy health services for patients. They get a set amount of money from the Government each year to pay for services including hospitals and GP surgeries.

Both were praised for the partnership work.

Dr Tony Naughton, clinical chief officer at Fylde and Wyre CCG, said: “I am delighted we have been recognised for this by NHS England and our commitment to community involvement will only

get stronger as we work more and more in partnership with other organisations.”
