As the name implies, the roots of the band are in the music of Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac. Friday’s gig will be Early Mac’s second visit to Fleetwood.

The band are from the Leeds area and tour extensively, regularly performing over a hundred gigs a year. Following Friday’s gig, Early Mac travel to Cumbria for a much-reduced Maryport Blues Festival, the main event having been cancelled three weeks ago.

Early Mac comprise Luke Smithson on vocals and guitar, Joel Dowson on lead guitar, Ol Jessop on bass and Peter Tallent on drums. Friday’s audience can look forward to hearing all the Peter Green classics including Black Magic Woman, Oh Well, The Green Manalishi and I Need Your Love So Bad. The setlist also includes covers of Gary Moore and Jimi Hendrix.

Promoter Dave Mann said: “Early Mac are well known on the national scene and the popularity of Peter Green’s music has endured over the years. I’m sure the audience will be richly entertained.”

Admission to Friday’s gig is free and the music starts around 9:30pm.
