Missing Blackpool woman, 72, found 'safe and well'

An urgent search was launched to help find a missing 72-year-old woman from Blackpool.

Officers launched an appeal after Patricia Cuerden went missing in the Westfield Road area at around 8.30am today (Tuesday, March 16).

Police were very concerned about her and urged anyone with information about Patricia's whereabouts to get in touch.

But officers have now confirmed the 72-year-old has been found "safe and well".

In an update posted at around 4.30pm, a spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "Earlier today we appealed for help finding missing Patricia, from Blackpool

"We are pleased to say she has now been found safe and well."

What to do if someone goes missing

If someone goes missing, contact anyone you think may know their whereabouts. If you’re still concerned, contact the police.

You do not have to wait 24 hours before contacting the police.

The police may ask you:

- for their photo

- details of their friends or relatives

- details of places the person often visits

- whether they had a medical condition

- for a sample of their DNA, for example from a toothbrush

With a relative’s permission, they may also ask to search the person’s home.

The person will be recorded as missing and their details made available to other UK police forces within 48 hours.
