Fleetwood woman Katrina Beardsworth made some waves to help a good cause close to her heart.
Animal lover Katrina, 38, staged a sponsored swim in June to raise money for Easterleigh Animal Sanctuary in St Annes.
And she has now handed over a cheque for £311 to the charity.
Katrina, of Queens Terrace, visited the sanctuary and handed over the cheque to Easterleigh administrator, Nicola Blaketon.
Easterleigh owner Mandy Leigh said: “We are always really grateful to all the people who help us.
“Without their kindness and generosity we would not be able to afford to run the sanctuary.
“It costs £5,000 a week to run this place so the money will be a huge help.”
Katrina swam 30 lengths at Fleetwood YMCA Leisure centre and raised the cash thanks to family and friends who have sponsored her.
She has learning difficulties and lives in independent living accommodation, where she is supported by key workers.
Katrina has always loved animals and has got two cats of her own.
Asked how she felt about the presentation, she said she was ‘just glad to help’.
Her key worker, Pat Gerrard, said: “Katrina has worked so hard to be able to swim 30 lengths in one go.
“She loves animals and wanted to help Easterleigh because of the wonderful work it does.
“We were delighted to accompany Katrina for the presentation.”
