Blackpool artist John Marc Allen is preparing to launch his latest show of work next month.
Echoes will be a retrospective collection of John’s work from the past six years, since he started working as The Tangerine Art Company, throwing himself full time into life as an artist after two redundancies.
John said: “The exhibition showcases my work across a number of different mediums including painting, screen print, digital art and photography.
“My work is very much inspired by the greats of pop art and is bold, colourful and expressionistic.
“I’ve always been interested in the way popular culture shapes the world around us, and his work reflects the influence of films, music, television, comic books and more on the way we look at and are inspired by the things created keep us entertained, as well as tapping into themes of nostalgia and elements of humour.”
His exhibition opens at Shaw’s Art House Cafe, Clifton Street. on Friday, August 17, and runs for six weeks.
