A Fleetwood man who has had a life-long interest in the paranormal is looking to set up a new group.
Stuart Leadbetter, 44, is interested in investigating ghosts, hauntings and unexplained phenomena.
The engineer, who works for Booth Dispensers in Bispham, has been involved in other groups in the past and has investigated sites as varied as the Cammell Laird Shipyard in Birkenhead and the Eagle and Child pub in Weeton.
Now he is looking to set up another group and would like people with similar interests to get in touch.
Stuart, of Beach Road, said: “In the most recent group, which was based in Wirral, we travelled all over the country investigating sites of interest.
“In one old Victorian hotel near Milton Keynes, I heard a baby crying in one of the rooms and didn’t think anything of it.
“But when I mentioned it a little later, it turned out that no children of any sort had been in this quiet hotel all day. No one could explain it.
“Lancashire is a good spot for reports of haunting and the new group will be called North West Paranormal.
“If enough people contact me, we can discuss where to meet up and take it from there.”
Stuart can trace his interest in the paranormal to when he had stories about ghosts and UFOs read to him when he was a youngster.
He believes there are many happenings that cannot be logically explained and he enjoys the challenge of investigating and eliminating rational reasons for them.
Stuart often employs devices which measure temperature changes and radiation levels so he can gauge any atmospheric changes which may indicate paranormal activity.
He also carries out background research on places of interest. Anyone interested in joining the group can contact Stuart on (01253) 686707 or 0783 5525618.
