Get our Natasha back: More than £18k raised to help bring injured teen home after horror quadbike accident

Natasha Stevens, 17, was on holiday with friends on the Greek island of Zante when she was thrown from a quadbike earlier this month.

More than £18,000 was donated in two days after the family started an online fund-raising page to help bring 17-year-old Natasha Stevens home from Greece, where she remains in hospital.

The former Fleetwood High School pupil was on holiday with friends on the popular holiday island of Zante when the accident happened on July 6.

According to her sister Amy, Natasha – who had been celebrating getting her A-level results – was thrown from the quadbike she had been riding on.

In the online post, Amy wrote: “The first few days after the accident were heartbreaking, we were told if she was any older she would have not survived.

“She sustained multiple injuries, including a severe head injury. She was rushed to hospital in Zante where she had surgery to try to stop the bleeding on her brain and correct her fractured skull.”

Natasha also reportedly suffered injuries to her abdomen and was taken to the Greek mainland where she has been in intensive care.

Amy added: “Although Natasha has made progress since the accident, and remained stable, the extent of the damage and the long-term effects this will have on her life are still currently unknown.

“The doctors have said Natasha is stable enough to fly home. However, the insurance company are not willing to pay the costs.

“Natasha’s family and friends desperately want her home as she has been in hospital in Greece for three weeks now.

“Any donations made will be put towards paying for this cost and for any future equipment, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, a wig, travel and accommodation costs she will likely need in order to give her the best chance of a full recovery.

“Please support Natasha and help bring her back to us. We want to see her beautiful smile back on her face.”

Posting on Twitter on Sunday, Amy thanked those who had donated, adding: “You are all so incredibly kind and generous. Me and my family are so grateful.”
