The team from Neve Fleetwood, based on Copse Road, will be raising money this July for the Fishermen’s Mission by entering a team into the Blackpool Summer 10K Run.

The race, which starts at the Middle Walk, Blackpool, on Sunday July 10, is an annual money-spinner for good causes.

The Fishermen’s Mission is close to the heart of the Neve Fleetwood team, with the majority having family members both past and present that have worked, or still work in the fishing industry.

The Fishermen’s Mission reaches out to both active and retired fishermen by providing practical, spiritual and financial support – as well as a vital emergency response service.

Neve Fleetwood goes back three generations to when its founders Chris and Gerrard Neve began going door‐to‐door, selling fish to local markets and restaurants.

The team are now busy training for the big run – and they are hoping as many people as possible will sponsor their efforts.

A Neve Fleetwood spokesman said: “The business has changed dramatically since those days, however one thing that remains is the heritage and passion amongst the Neve Fleetwood team who are all local, with their roots firmly based in the fishing industry.”
