FLEETWOOD High School and Cardinal Allen Catholic High pupils are all set to get into the beat.
The two schools will be among six short-listed teams battling it out on stage to win this year’s Northern Beat theatrical competition.
Northern Beat is a multi-agency project working with young people from local high schools to look at ways in which dance and drama can be used to get across messages about the harm and consequences of substance misuse.
The competition is funded by Lancashire Drug & Alcohol Action Team, and supported by Lancashire Constabulary and Lancashire County Council.
A total of 13 schools from the Lancaster, Fylde and Wyre districts entered a 10-15 minute drama piece on the theme ‘tackling anti-social behaviour together’.
The final will take place at Lancaster’s The Grand theatre.
Fleetwood High and Cardinal Allen will be joined by Thornton’s Millfield Science and Performing Arts College and St Aidan’s CE Technology College, Preesall, and Kirkham and Lancaster schools.
