A couple whose business has been repeatedly targeted by yobs causing damage and stealing from them say the problem is getting worse.

Tiffany Spears, 22, said the trouble at the store in Fleetwood she runs with partner Richard Anthony has escalated in recent weeks.

Last month, the couple spoke out in The Gazette after the windows of their home were smashed and their Lord Street shop was vandalised.

Now police have released CCTV images from one of the incidents, when a man broke into the Best One store and stole cash from the till and a shelf, in the hope of tracking down the offender.

Miss Spears said: “The bricks at the back of the shop have been completely smashed, we’ve had windows smashed and we’ve had shoplifters in every hour of the day.

“These things keep happening – it’s getting worse.”

The couple, who live in Fleetwood, also run Supernews on Lord Street.

And their plight has caught the attention of Fleetwood MP Eric Ollerenshaw, who Miss Spears said wants to help.

The shopkeeper said: “He came to the shop on Friday and spoke to me.

“He wanted to see the damage and said he wanted to set up a meeting with the police to see what can be done.”

The incident in question took place on February 5 at 7.30am. Police said the offender got in through a rear window, accessed from a secluded alleyway, and stole £100 from the till before taking more money from a shelving unit.

Police said at the time it may have been linked to other crimes committed at the store.

Miss Spears added: “We just want to find out who did it. Hopefully people will see the pictures and come forward with a name.”

PC Gemma Sandham, of Fleetwood Police, said: “I would appeal to anybody that has any information about this burglary to contact me at Lancashire Police by calling 101.”
