Police set to quiz man over ‘attempted murder’

A man is will be questioned by police later today over a knife attack in which another man’s neck was slashed.

The victim, understood to be in his 50s, was found by neighbours in Hatfield Avenue, Fleetwood, yesterday.

He is believed to have been stabbed inside a flat.

He was airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital after suffering ‘serious’ injuries.

Three other men were also hurt, suffering cuts.

One was taken to Preston Hospital, while two were taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital, she added.

Two men, both in their 40s, have been released from hospital. Another, also in his 40s is expected to be released from Royal Preston Hospital today.

A 43-year-old man from Fleetwood was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

He is understood to have been one of the four men taken to hospital.

However he has now been released and is in police custody.

Detectives are expecting to quiz him later today.

Officers said none of the other three men taken to hospital following the attack were in a life threatening condition.

Police are still appealing for information following the incident.
