A plasterer was seen throwing punches at a group of men outside a fish and chip shop, a court was told.

Daniel Wallbank, 23, of Park Avenue, Fleetwood, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.

He was give a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs with £15 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said security officers alerted police to a group of men fighting near the Oyster Bar on Blackpool Promenade.

The incident happened on January 26 this year at about 3.45am.

The blue lights of a police vehicle alerted the group and they ran off, the court heard.

But they soon gathered again outside Harry Ramsden’s fish and chip shop, where Wallbank was seen swinging punches at other men.

Wallbank told magistrates: “I was out all night drinking with mates.

“I got booted in the face and when I got up I was mad.”
