A man who had been to a Golden Wedding party got into trouble after objecting to his girlfriend dancing with someone else.

Craig Gibson ended up in a pushing and pulling match on the dance floor with the other man and then heabutted another man after being ejected from the club.

Gibson, a 22-year-old former fishery protection worker, of Lord Street, Fleetwood, pleaded guilty to assault when he appeared before Blackpool magistrates.

Chrissie Hunt, prosecuting, said that on October 11 Gibson was thrown out of the port’s Rafters club.

He saw a man outside and asked him “do you want a punch,” before headbutting him.

Jo Gregory, defending, said Gibson went on to the club after attending a family celebration. They then had a row and later Gibson became annoyed when he saw his girlfriend on the dancefloor with someone else.

In the club another man punched and scratched Gibson and after being ejected he thought he saw the same man outside. He admitted headbutting him but said it was just a tap.

Gibson was bailed for pre-sentence reports and will be sentenced at a later date.
