Officers were called to reports of an altercation on Lord Street on Sunday evening at around 7pm.

Police say they arrived to find a man at the scene, who was pronounced dead a short time later.

A spokesman for the police said: "Following the incident in Fleetwood last night a man has been pronounced deceased and a police investigation is ongoing at the moment.

"Officers are in attendance and a crime scene has been put in place.

"There were reports of an altercation, but at this stage we are unable to confirm if an altercation led to the man's death."
