A man known as the ‘galloping gourmet’, who dines out and does not pay the bill, has been up to his old tricks.
Alan Brown has more than 200 previous convictions for eating and drinking at restaurants and pubs without paying.
Brown, 52, formerly of St Marys Road, Preston, now living at Raikes Parade, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to fraudulently obtaining a meal and drinks valued at £48.10.
Brown was bailed for pre-sentence reports with all options including custody to be considered by Blackpool magistrates.
He must report daily to police as a condition of his bail.
Tracy Yates, prosecuting, said Brown went into Pizza Hut, Cleveleys, on July 30 and consumed food plus six bottles of premium lager.
After he had finished Brown told staff he had no money to pay the bill.
Allan Cobain, defending, said Brown was released from prison in early July after serving a sentence for a similar offence.
Brown had lived frugally but then his benefits money had run out and he had no food.
