CCTV APPEAL: Man attempts to pay with fake note at Lytham shop

A CCTV appeal has been launched after a man attempted to pay for goods with a fake £50 note.

The incident happened on May 18 at the Lidl on Preston Road in Lytham, say police.

Officers are now appealing to the public to help them identify the man in the CCTV as they believe he may be able to help them with their enquiries.

A spokesman for the police said: "We are seeking information in relation to the ID of the person in the CCTV.

"At around 9am on Wednesday May 18, a person entered Lidl in Lytham.

"He then attempted to pay for goods at the point of sale with a counterfeit note before leaving the store."If you know who the person in the CCTV is or you have any information please get in touch."
