Police are investigating after a teenager was punched three times while walking through Fleetwood’s Memorial Park.

The victim, an 18-year-old man, was near the rose garden when he was approached by a gang of five young men at around 10pm on February 22.

One of the gang, wearing a grey hooded top, then launched into an unprovoked attack, punching him in the face and twice on his arms before the victim managed to run away.

The offender has been described as around 18 years old and 5ft 9ins tall.

PC Andy Ward said, “This was seemingly a totally unprovoked attack which has left the victim with swelling and bruising to his face so we are appealing for anyone with any information that could help us to trace the people responsible to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
