Eight engines from across the county were called to the blaze on the Promenade at around 4am this morning.

The Promenade has been closed in both directions between Springfield Road and Cocker Square while emergency services deal with the incident.

"A floor collapsed in the building and it is thought to be unsafe.

"Road closures have been put in place along the Promenade."

Fire crews are still on the scene.

It is not currently known if anybody was injured.
