Big day looms for the 'Macmillan Minion'
The cartoon character-inspired banger, which has gone viral over social media and appeared on leading north west news shows, is travelling 1,400 miles to Spain next Sunday.
But before the big day, the yellow and blue Ford Focus and its team have been taking part in a number of fund-raising activities for Macmillan.

Todd, who has housed the Minion car in his Brake-Fit garage in Fulwood, said: “It was a brilliant day. We had a raffle with lots of Minion goodies up for grabs that had all been donated for the kids.
“We’re not far off our £2,000 target now. We’re up to around £1,600 on the JustGiving page with Gift Aid and with other donations we’re nearer eighteen, nineteen hundred.”
Todd and the team also took the Minion car to a family fun day at Brook Tavern in Plungington on the Sunday, and have one more event planned with Todd’s daughter Penny.

“We’re really excited, the team can’t wait. The car is looking great and the lads are coming tonight [Thursday] to fit a radio and CD player and do a few final checks.”
The team will set off at 6am on Sunday, May 13, from Todd’s garage and aim to arrive in Benidorm within four or five days.
“We’re hoping to get to Birmingham for 9am where a big group of us will set off south,” Todd explained.
A total of 32 cars from across the county are taking part in the rally to Benidorm, called TJ’s Rally Elite.
