It looked as though all 10 huts had been taken but a couple of applicants have now dropped out.

Wyre Council is inviting bids for the two remaining available chalets, being built within the colonnade adjoining the Marine Hall.

The chalets are set to be completed by the end of May.

Bids are invited for a lease with a six year term, and the minimum tender figure is for an annual rent of £1,500 plus VAT which will be fixed for the duration of the lease. The deadline for bids is 4pm on Friday May 13. Visit www.wyre.gov.uk

The chalet scheme has come under criticism after cash was used from the £1.5m Five For Fleetwood initiative to fund them.
