Blackpool’s inclusive theatre group has received Arts Award status and is offering young people the chance to sign up for the qualification.
TramShed Theatre Company creates new theatre pieces to inspire and celebrate people of all abilities, across Blackpool, the Fylde and Wyre.
Arts Awards encourage young people to participate in any form of the arts and to develop creativity and leadership skills through the arts.
TramShed artistic director Zac Hackett said: “I am extremely proud to be offering the Arts Award at TramShed.
“Throughout the past decade TramShed has developed, expanded and progressed as a charity and although we hoped our inclusive methods would be successful, little did we realise the depth of that success.
“Now as a registered Arts Award Centre, we will be able to offer Inclusive Performing Arts as a recognised qualification which is nationally recognised.
“As with everything at TramShed, it doesn’t matter who you are or what your experiences, TramShed will cater for your every need and offer a wonderfully inclusive environment.
“The future is a very exciting one for TramShed Theatre Company.”
Weekly workshops for the award start on Monday, September 17.
