£9.8m homes plan for portmoves closer
The plans for the new homes on the West View estate, consisting of 72 flats, are finally progressing after being in the pipeline for more than five years.
After lengthy delays, Regenda Homes has now named the contractor which will be carrying out the bulk of the work.

Hide AdConstruction is expected to begin on the extra care homes, a form of sheltered housing, before the summer but Regenda says more details will be announced imminently, including a name for the building.
The development is triple the size of the previous Regenda premises on the site, Wansbeck House, which was demolished last August.
Regenda says the new development will offer considerably more modern accommodation than its predecessor, including therapy rooms, a lounge, and function rooms.
However, not everyone is happy with the development.
Residents in the immediate vicinity were furious about the size and scale of the proposed new building and unhappy that Wyre planners approved it.
Some 75 letters of objection were presented to planners.

But Regenda says the new plans are a big improvement and Gareth Wyatt, development project manager at Regenda Homes, said: “We are delighted to appoint Bardsley as the main contractor.”
