The UK is full of creative talent as showcased by the recent entries to the HUAWEI NEXT-IMAGE 2020 photography competition. The world’s biggest smartphone photography competition celebrates the positive power of creativity and is open for entries until 31st July this year.

To inspire those hoping to take home the $10,000 top prize, or be in with a chance of getting their hands on the latest Huawei P40 Pro smartphone, Huawei has teamed up with UK photographer Mike Kus, who has created a masterclass video offering his personal tips on capturing the best image for each competition category. Amateur photographers can visit Huawei’s official YouTube channel to watch the video and put his tips into practice to boost their shot at taking home one of the coveted prizes.

NEXT-IMAGE 2020 is shining a light on photography captured on smartphones, and the global competition offers photography fans six different categories to enter. These range from capturing hidden gems, night-time photography and real-life stories to inspiring portraits, a photo series that tells a personal story and producing a video that expresses your creativity.

From today, Huawei will also be partnering with LALALAB, Europe’s premier photo printing app, to offer participants the opportunity to bring the special moments they have captured to life by printing them at a 20% discounted price using the LALALAB app, available in the Huawei AppGallery.

It’s time for new creators across Britain to use their creative skills to capture and share their most joyful, inspiring images from wherever they are. Huawei has always been at the forefront of innovation when it comes to smartphone photography and our devices feature unparalleled camera technology. We have been really impressed with the quality and the creativity of the images that have been submitted so far, and would like to encourage all Huawei users across the country to take part.” commented Anson Zhang, CEO of Huawei UK Consumer BG.

Helene Queriault from LALALAB. added “It's so easy nowadays to use our powerful smartphones to bring our ideas to life with beautiful images, whether you’re an amateur or professional photographer. Whether it’s images taken at home or elsewhere, it's about immortalizing special moments, and ultimately bringing them to life again by printing them. If those pictures raise smiles or touch hearts, our mission is accomplished.”
