Trawling the archives to show of life on Fleetwood Docks
Each of these photos from Fleetwood’s fishing past tells a different story.
They are news pictures dug from the archives, pictures which define an industry that had its fair share of battles. The trawlermen were simply making a living, often away from home for weeks at a time, landing their catches in bitterly cold weather having risked their lives whilst enduring treacherous seas. Over the years the territory brought tensions as economies changed and new powers and laws were brought in.
