Between 1965 and 1985, WOS Wrestling became a British institution, creating legendary stars such as Big Daddy, Mick McManus and Rollerball Rocco.

Following a successful one-off revival on New Year’s Eve, ITV have commissioned a 10-part series of the iconic show.

The intimate live shows will take place at the venue on Thursday, May 25 and Friday, May 26. The popularity of UK wrestling is at an all-time high and in January, global juggernaut WWE crowned their first ever ‘United Kingdom Champion’ at Blackpool Empress Ballroom.

Now, Anthem, the company behind IMPACT Wrestling (one of WWE’s biggest rivals) have teamed up with ITV Studios for the new series.

Director of Entertainment at ITV Studios Manchester, Tom Mclennan said: “Britain’s wrestling scene is thriving and there has never been a better time to bring it back to ITV after a gap of 30 years.”

Jeff Jarrett, chief creative officer for IMPACT Wrestling, added: “My family’s lineage in the industry dates back 70-plus years, so I am honoured to revive the legacy of this historic British series.”

Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday, April 7 and will be available from prestonguildhall.co.uk.
