The Cardinal Allen pupil was selected for the special role back in March.

She was joined by Catherine Hover as Prince Charming, Joseph Hover as page boy and princesses Helana and Rhianna Gleave and Summer and Eliesha Spore.

The carnival parade followed a route from the Marine Hall, past the North Euston Hotel to Lord Street, along Poulton Street, Poulton Road, Carr Road and on to the Promenade and back to the Marine Hall.

A fun day at the Marine Hall followed the parade.

A carnival spokesman said: “It was a bit of a wet day, but it was really good – all the children especially enjoyed it in the rain!”
