Red Rose outings for BWFAC duo
Two Blackpool, Wyre & Fylde AC athletes were part of the Lancashire team with Emily Japp having a good race and finishing the 8K course 16th in 31:13, 30 places better than 2016.
Japp was the first counter for the Lancashire team which finished eighth of 27 full teams with the race won by Jessica Judd of Chelmsford in 29:54.

Hide AdJess Rogers was part of the Under-20 women’s team and finished 62nd in 25:54 on the 6K course.
The major local race was the Sweatshop 10 Mile, won by Brendan McMillan of Jarrow & Hebburn AC in 56:56.
The first BWFAC runner was James Greenaway in 59:27 with Jim Unsworth 11th in 61:29.
Bev Wright finished as first Vet 55 in 62nd place (73:22), while the other BWFAC runners were Jeff Wilson (81st, 75:37), Brendan Willoughby (103rd, 78:48), Simon Scarr (119th, 82:49), Kirsty Holland (157th, 87:37) and John Winters (246th, 1:47.47).

Hide AdThe times at the 3.73 mile March Club Handicap were Graham Davies (24:12), Ian Close (29:22), Tony Croft (32:59), Peter Gibson (29:38) and Bev Wright (24:46).
Liam Craine took his third consecutive first place in the fifth running of the Blackpool parkrun in 17:26, two seconds outside his best.
Paul Sparrow (14th, 20:18) and Paul Beech (16th, 20:47) both posted course PBs and also running were Dexter Sparrow (21st, 21:22) and with course PBs, Steve Dunn (27th, 22:23), Anthony Blight (33rd, 23:03), Peter Gibson (39th, 23:35) and Alison Titterington (64th, 24:58).
Completing the BWFAC runners were Kate Chandler (89th, 27:17), Malcolm Beech (105th, 28:29), Scott Coxey (155th, 33:43, PB), Bob Massey (196th, 42:23) and Tracy Coxey (208th, 46:37).

Hide AdAt the Lytham Hall parkrun, first across the line was Salford Harriers’ Tessa Robinson in 18:17 with David Twizell (69th, 26:10) and Howard Henshaw (148th, 32:36) the BWFAC runners in action.
Meanwhile, at the Preston parkrun, Michelle Tickle set a course PB and her fastest 5K.
Jess Rogers was named as February’s female athlete of the month, while Danny Hayes won the male prize for his efforts at Rossall.
