A Mother's Day shopping afternoon in Lytham provided a boost of just under £400 for a fund to refurbish the library at Lytham St Annes Technology and Performing Arts College.

The event at Lytham Methodist Church organised by the college’s Parents Teachers and Friends’ Association featured a wide variety of stalls and raised £398.90.

PTFA spokesman Lesley Dobson said: “We are grateful to everyone who supported the event.”

The PTFA is actively raising funds for the refurbishment of the library at the Ansdell-based college, which recently confirmed it is closing its sixth form from September 2018.

Next event planned is Limber Up for Lytham, a 1K and 5K race in the college grounds on Sunday, June 18 and more details of that can be found at www.lythamhigh.lancs.sch.uk
