MP vows to continue rat run speed battle
Following concerns raised by residents Paul Maynard has asked for the speed limit in White Carr Lane to be reduced from 30mph to 20.
The route which is twisty, narrow, has blind bends and no kerbing is considered by some as dangerous.

Lancashire County Council says the route is classed as a 'a rural road' and therefore the 30mph limit will stay in place.
Mr Maynard said: “Anyone who travels on the road realises that it cannot be classed as ‘a rural road’.
"White Carr Lane is used as a short cut by many people in getting on to the A585 and often the perception is that the speed of traffic is too fast.

"I was disappointed with the council’s entrenched views on the matter and its failure to look at wider road safety.
"It seems yet again that Cleveleys is at the back of the queue from this Labour dominated County Council.
"Time and again I have fought with LCC over this road, they rarely maintain it and local houses have been spattered with mud as speeding cars clip the grass verge.
"I’m not letting this matter rest and will continue in my campaign to reduce the speed on this road making it safer for users and those who live on it.”
