Police discovered a huge haul of cannabis plants at a Blackpool house after they were tipped off by members of the public.

Officers seized more than 500 plants from an address on Egerton Road after forcing access to the property at around 11.50am yesterday.

PC John Kingsley-Mills, who was among those who discovered the factory, said: “This is much bigger than what we normally see. We do get little operations often with just a few plants, but something like this is quite substantial.”

A 28-year-old man, Arjel Kodar, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with the production of a class B drug, and is set to appear at Blackpool Magistrates Court tomorrow.
