A woman whose house was ravaged by fire has received a voucher gift from a kind-hearted Blackpool businessman.

Sue and Turney Logan were left devastated when a roaring inferno in May not only wrecked their home in Calder Vale, near Garstang, but took away all their priceless possessions.

The couple, who have two grown-up daughters, were also nominated for a radio competition which resulted in them winning a £300 voucher for new furniture at long-established Blackpool superstore Leftons, on General Street.

Sue picked up the £300 voucher from Richard Lefton this week.

Sue, currently living in a rented house on Green Lane West, Garstang, says the new furniture she will buy there will be the first thing they put in their house, once it has been restored.

Richard Lefton, owner of Leftons, said: “It’s always nice to help someone who really needs it.”
