A man was charged with making threats to kill while wielding a machete.

Chuanning Wang, 39, of The Crescent, was charged with making threats to kill, assault, and criminal damage

Wang faces two allegations of making the threats on February 10 against a man and a woman.

He is also accused of attacking the man, and faces allegations of criminal damage to a police cell blanket worth £83, and a custody suite worth £60.

Wang was remanded in custody. Defence lawyer Gerry Coyle did not enter a plea.

Magistrates ruled the case must be heard at Preston Crown Court, where Wang is now due to appear on March 11.
