A Jack Russell was hurt after being attacked by another dog in Dickson Road, Blackpool town centre, police said.

The pet was taken to the vets.

The other dog, a Rottweiler, was seized by officers and taken to kennels following the attack, which the force said happened at 2.10pm on Sunday.

A spokesman said Steven Sproat, 35, of Richmond Road, North Shore, was charged with a breach of a criminal behaviour order, and being the owner or person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control, causing injury.

He is set to appear before magistrates in the resort on Monday, July 2.
