The coastguard has now issued a warning to anyone who does venture out onto the beach during their daily exercise to make themselves aware of their surroundings and the tide times "as this could have been a completely different story."
To avoid getting cut off by the tide:
- Before you head out, make sure it’s safe. Check the tide tables
- While you’re out, be aware of your surroundings and the tide's direction
