POULTON Drama return to the stage this week with a hilarious and award-winning comedy.

They are performing Stepping Out, by Richard Harris, at Thornton Little Theatre from Wednesday March 16 to Saturday March 19.

It begins each night at 7.30pm, and there is also a Saturday matinee at 3pm.

A group of women and one man meet weekly in a tap-dance class in a dingy North London church hall, struggling to conquer their inhibitions – and a preponderance of left feet!

This gentle comedy concentrates on the group as they gradually move from stumbling acquaintance with each other to forge a team worthy of performing to an outside audience.

They all have their reasons for being in the class, teasing the audience with titbits about their lives, their hopes and their anxieties.

It all comes down to a spectacular finale – will they be able to overcome their nerves to carry it off?

The production is directed by Sarah Stone.

Tickets can be purchased from Ann Johnston on (01253) 894330.

Under 26s go free under the Arts Council A Night Less Ordinary scheme.
