Local pubs such as The Steamer, The Mount and the Strawberry Gardens were filled with the strains of live music and there were instrumental, dance and craft workshops as well.

Three big concerts at the Marine Hall featured big folk names such as Doggie MacLean, Chloe’s Passion and award-winning duo Nancy Kerr & James Fagan.

Hundreds of fans poured into the town, making it good for local businesses too. The event is organised each year by folk musician Alan Bell and a loyal team of helpers.

North Euston Hotel manager Stephen Dale was full of praise for the festival, now in its 41st year.
