A top TV comedy star is heading back to Fleetwood for a festive night of comedy at the town’s Marine Hall.
Gary Delaney, who regularly appears on irreverent panel show Mock the Week, will headline the Christmas Party Night at the Marine Hall on December 7.
The Marine Hall has teamed up with entertainment company Who Dares Grins to bring a line-up of high-flying comedians to the venue for the special seasonal show.
Delaney, whose profile has rocketed since his last appearance in the town, will be joined by comedians Nina Gilligan and Lewis Charlesworth for the night of top comedy.
The fun is all served up with a three-course Christmas dinner by Marine Hall’s partner caterer Toast and after the show the audience can dance the night away on the ballroom floor.
North West comedian Bobby Murdock set up the company Who Dares Grins in 2010 with a view to bringing the best of the country’s comedians to venues across the region.
Fresh from his sell out show at the Edinburgh Fringe he said: “We are really excited to be working with the team at Marine Hall and have come up with a great line up for the night.
“I guarantee it’ll be a hilarious night out, guests will have a brilliant time and will especially love Gary Delaney’s quick wit and one liner jokes.”
The Marine Hall, which is run by Wyre Council, is looking to bring a number of high profile acts to the venue and earlier this year announced that chart band Toploader will be playing there next year.
There has also been a surge of interest in stand-up comedy and it was at a Jongleurs comedy night that Delaney made his Marine Hall debut last year.
Tickets are £30 and if you book a table before October 1 your party’s first bottle of wine is free. Doors open at 6.30pm with DJ and dancing till late.
Michael Ryan, Director of People and Places at Wyre Council, said: “Gary Delaney appeared at Marine Hall last year on the bill as part of our regular Jongleurs comedy nights and proved a big hit.
“He’s just received rave reviews for his show at the Edinburgh Festival and we’re delighted to welcome him back to Fleetwood.”
