Mamma Mia! Here we go again for ABBA hit

If ever a musical had '˜money, money, money' written all over it - it's Mamma Mia! which finally comes to the region but, sadly not Blackpool, this month.

Mamma Mia opens at the Palace Theatre, Manchester, from Tuesday through to Saturday, June 4, as part of its first ever UK tour.

The sensational feel-good musical has been a massive hit since Judy Craymer ingeniously set a story of lost (and found) love, family and friendship to ABBA’s music on a Greek island paradise.

What’s more the stage version packs a far better punch vocally than the film starring Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth.

The stage version has charmed more than 60m people in 49 productions in 16 different languages while Mamma Mia! The movie is the highest worldwide grossing live-action musical film of all time.

The London production has been seen by 10 per cent of the entire UK population and with the show running for almost a month in Manchester it’s likely fans from the Fylde will make up for lost time - and keep fingers crossed for a run closer to home in the future. It is one of only five musicals to have run for more than 10 years both on Broadway and in the West End.
