A THORNTON store faces losing its licence for almost two months after staff sold booze to under-age children.
Police officers have asked Wyre Council to review the licence at Cheers on Fleetwood Road North following two failed test purchases within four months.

They say licence holder, Kevin Harris, has a "total disregard" for licensing standards, which aim to protect children from harm, crime and disorder.

A 14-year-old girl was sold a bottle of red wine in July 2009.

The convenience store was fined and a licensing surgery between Mr Harris, who is also the premises supervisor, and the police was arranged.

Officers raised concerns there was no refusals book and no formal training at the store. Then in October 2009 another 14-year-old girl was sold wine.
