STAFF at a Cleveleys pub are preparing for a massive clean up operation after fire ripped through the premises early on Christmas morning.
Firefighters were called to The Venue on North Promenade at 4.45am after the blaze broke out on the ground floor.
Crews of fire officers managed to douse the flames – just hours before 500 guests were due to arrive for Christmas dinner.
Despite the chaos, staff rallied round to clean up as much of the mess as possible and create extra space for guests.
The dinner went ahead as planned in The Spirit nightclub in the basement and La Mezzaluna restaurant on the first floor.
Fire investigators now say they are satisfied the cause of the fire was not suspicious but owners of the popular venue must now refurbish the destroyed Green Room bar.
