SHOPPERS in Cleveleys were given Christmas safety tips along with devices to protect their purses at a special street policing session.
Police officers and police community support officers (PCSOs) handed out 150 lanyards – a device that attaches purses or wallets to bags so they cannot be removed by thieves – and crime prevention packs in the town centre this week.

The town's neighbourhood policing team will be repeating the event on Tuesday December 22 from 11am, when they will also be handing out 'jingle bells' purse alarms to elderly visitors as they get off buses.
