THERE are fears that Cleveleys' Marks and Spencer food outlet could be among branches facing the axe as the company prepares for job lossses and closures.
High street giant M&S is set to make an announcement today over redundancies of up to 1,000 staff across the country.
The company is among many big name operators to have experienced difficult trading conditions in 2008.
As well as shedding staff, the chain also plans to shut 10 of its 300 plus M&S: Simply Food stores.
It is not yet know if the chain's Cleveleys outlet on Victoria Road West will be among those to shut, but the closure fears have raised questions among local shoppers.
A spokesman for the company said a statement about the job losses and closures is set to be released at around 11am today.be released at around 11am today.
