THORNTON Cleveleys Gala Queen Chloe Major will host her final big event of her year "in office" this weekend.
Chloe, who will hand over her crown to 2008 Queen elect Ellie Bates this summer, will be holding her "queens at home" event on Sunday.
The event takes place Christ Church on Meadows Avenue.
Also involved will be Gala Princess Charlotte Mountcastle, whose successor for 2008 is Alish Stewart.
Meanwhile, the organisers of the annual festival, which was revived in recent years after folding, say plans are going well and a timetable of events is being drawn up.
They include the gala schools sports event, to be held Tuesday June 10 at Thornton Football club, and the festival's inter-schools football tournament which is taking place on Thursday June 12 at the Bourne Way football field.
Gala Day itself takes pace on Saturday June 14 and will feature the traditional, colourful parade of floats and marching bands.
Participants wishing to enter floats in the procession, which no longer includes Cleveleys but follows a route in Thornton, are being invited to come forward.
The big day will culminate in the crowning ceremony and sports finale on King George's Playing Fields.
Those wishing to take part in the parade can phone Karen Barlow on (01253) 822726.
