Free health check for dogs

DOG owners can take their four legged friends for a free health check when a PDSA wagon rolls into Wyre next month.
Veterinary nurses will spend two days in Thornton checking the health of any dogs that are brought to the Wyreside Ecology Centre on River Road, Stanah.
They are also happy to address concerns about pet obesity, dental disease and other problems. They will also be able to answer questions on other pet problems. The PetCheck wagon then moves on to Marine Hall Gardens in Fleetwood, again for a two-day stay.
The visit is being supported by Wyre Borough Council dog warden Janet Gibson who will be available at the Thornton venue to discuss concerns about animal welfare and dog control.
Janet said: "This is a great opportunity for anyone who is worried about the health of their dog, especially for those on a low income who would normally struggle to pay vet bills."
PDSA PetCheck will be in Thornton on 25 and 26 September and in Fleetwood on 27 and 28 September. Opening hours are 10am to 5pm (4pm on Sunday).
