A FYLDE photographer, who made his name photographing American gridiron stars is to write an autobiography.
Wayne Paulo, from Cleveleys, began his career as a singer but mastered the art of taking sports pictures while snapping the Fylde coast's now defunct American Football team, Fylde Falcons.
He moved to America to follow the sport he loved and eventually took pictures at the pinnacle of American Football – the Superbowl.
And now his career, which saw him take iconic images of multi-millionaire stars like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Kurt Warner, is being charted in the new book – Nearly Famous.
Mr Paulo said: "This book is packed with the photographs I have taken of stars and personalities.
"It's rolled up with a heap of personal and sometimes humorous anecdotes and pictures from my rather unusual life story.
"I think I was 'Nearly Famous' and want people to read it, decide and let me know."
The book includes more than 600 photographs charting Wayne's 25-year rise to the top of his profession.
Among his other forays into the world of entertainment, the photographer also made a living from music through cabaret singing and record producing.
He became an actor, appearing in television programmes and on the big screen.
When he moved into photography he took pictures of everything from Fylde Falcons to the Queen before his big break into the world of NFL.
He became the official photographer for the sport's European league, NFL Europe, which no longer exists, before becoming a regular at the biggest game of them all – the Superbowl.
As well as taking sporting pictures, his career in America has allowed him to photograph huge music stars such as Prince, Sir Paul McCartney, Beyonce and Aerosmith. He has also given lectures about his career in photography.
