A CLEVELEYS man with Fleetwood connections has passed out from army training.

Gary Rawcliffe, 19, passed out from the Army Training Centre at Pirbright in Surrey after completing his initial training course along with 150 other recruits.
And Gary did more than just pass out - he did so with flying colours and was presented with the prestigious Soldier's Medal and at the Best at Physical Training Medal.
The teenager, who is in the Royal Engineers (RE), received the awards from Major General Alan Hawley OBE QHP.
It was a proud occasion for Gary's family, which has strong military traditions.
Attending the big occasion were his parents Gary and Mikayla Rawcliffe, girlfriend Emily Longdon and his younger brothers Bradley and Curtis.
Also there were his grandmother Isobel Ball and his other set of grandparents, Stan and Yvonne Rawcliffe from Fleetwood.
Gary is now the third generation of his family to have served in the Royal Engineers.
His grandfather Stan was a lieutenant colonel in the regiment and his great grandfather was a regimental sergeant major.
Gary has now been posted to 55 Squadron RE to complete his combat engineering course.
Mum Mikayla said: "We're all very proud of Gary and he is obviously delighted to have passed out."
Gary is a former pupil of Anchorsholme Primary school and went on to attend Montgomery High in Bispham before studying at Baines School sixth form in Poulton.
