TRANSPORT chiefs have described as an "unfortunate accident" the demolition of a bus shelter by a bus.
The accident happened on Victoria Road West in Cleveleys, just outside the post office, as the bus pulled into the stop.

Passengers waiting at the bus stop, miraculously, escaped unhurt - despite broken glass flying everywhere.

The driver of the number 11 bus, which goes to St Annes, has been described as "badly shaken" by the accident.

No-one involved required medical treatment.

Steve Burd, managing director of Blackpool Transport, described it as "just an unfortunate accident" about which the driver was "very upset".

He said only "minimal damage" had been caused to the bus, with the wing mirror knocked off and a "very slight" dint in the side.
