TORQUAY will be Fleetwood Town’s first Football League opponents, while Blackpool kick-off their Championship campaign away to Millwall when the new season gets under way on August 18.

Fleetwood will be delighted to be at home on the opening day of their Football League life but they face a tricky match against the Devon club who contested the promotion play-offs last season.

The Seasiders’ opener is a repeat of the closing match of the 2011/12 campaign, which ended in a 2-2 draw at The Den

Pool’s first home game is three days later, against a Leeds United side over whom they did the double last season.

Fleetwood are also in action on the first Tuesday, making their first away trip in League Two to a Bradford City side who once resided in the Premier League. Town then head to Burton Albion on Saturday 25.

Fleetwood can look forward to a Boxing Day derby at home to Morecambe, having visited their coastal neighbours on September 8. Relegated Rochdale visit Highbury on April 6.
