GOALKEEPER Scott Davies insists Fleetwood Town’s players are well aware of the task they face on Saturday, when Carling One Cup finalists Bradford City visit Highbury.
A big crowd is expected for the clash and Davies warned of the quality the Bantams will bring on the pitch.
The Town no.1 said: “To beat one Premier League team can be put down to a bad day or a one-off performance, but to beat three, that’s no fluke.”
Bradford knocked Wigan, Arsenal and Aston Villa out of the League Cup to set up a Wembley showdown with Swansea and Davies warned: “We have to be on our guard. Perhaps their minds will be on that final.
“But we can’t take that for granted. We’ve got to be at our best and make sure we get the basics right, like we did last Saturday. We won’t take it lightly.”
As for those three Premier scalps, he said: “It just shows that the players in this division have the same quality and ability as those playing at the highest level.
“The difference is consistency. Those playing at the very top can do it week in, week out.”
On the issue of consistency, Davies knows it’s time for Graham Alexander’s side to come up with some.
He said: “We’re just outside the play-off places but three points off an automatic spot. It’s a league right now in which a good run takes you right up there.
“We’ve already done it earlier in the season and we made it up to third.
“Now we need to put in another run of results and get back up there again.”
