Fleetwood Town barely troubled Doncaster keeper Stephen Bywater as they ground out a 0-0 draw at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Josh Morris’ long range drive, which drifted harmlessly over the bar was the closest Graham Alexander’s side came to scoring on a dour afternoon in the Doncaster sunshine.

Rovers, also guaranteed a mid-table finish, were barely better - Kyle Bennett causing problems for Tyler Forbes before the break but former Fleetwood loanee Nathan Tyson unable to provide anything by way of a killer finish.

The visitors offered even less after the break and could have been stung at the death.

Doncaster suddenly discovered their attacking gear and could have snatched victory through sub Harry Forrester, his drive tipped past the post by Chris Maxwell.

A clean sheet was solace for Graham Alexander.

He said: “We’re pleased to take something from it.

“We’d have liked to have created a little bit more attacking-wise.

“There was a lot of midfield play from both teams.

“I’m happy with the draw, I’d like to have threatened their goal a little bit more but it’s a good clean sheet.

“If we’d have managed a few more like that away from home we might have been ending the season in a better position.”
